      • Post all relevant information to LBT Website: lbt.org.au => Events => Swiftsure Regatta 2017 Richard
      • Make sure there are enough paddle making materials
      • put flag tube at front of boat
      • Organise Flags on poles
      • Charge radios
      • Set up online team registration forms Richard – done
      • Parking sign
      • Organise white boards/blackboards
      • Collect Marquee from Bendigo 11am Friday Richard
    • Jobs to do on the day
      • Start of Day
        • Erect Marquee
        • Get Nancy set up to be starter/finisher boat
          • Couple of hooters, clipboards, paper, pens, turn radio, megaphone on Martin
        • Move Nancy out onto anchor  Martin and safety boat crew
          • Can use her as starting/finishing  boat
          • Radio will be used for communications with shore: fallback mobile phone.
          • Could be a good idea to tow out dinghy
          • In the past we have used Yukon for starting, but she may be working
        • Move Grebes out onto pontoons
        • Get lifejackets out and organised near dinghy shed
        • Get safety boat setup, first aid kit, towing harness etc.
        • Get the turning buoys out (with safety boat)
      • End of Day
        • Retrieve the turning buoys
        • Generally clean up, put away

  • Orders for racing
    • If we race three boats at a time, then we can be preparing the next race whilst one is running
    • 1.  Teams will go to boats, put coloured flag at front and row out to start line
    • 2. Teams will assemble behind start line between Nancy and pontoon
    • 3.  Teams will move up to start line under orders from starter on Nancy
    • 4.   Start of race will be announced by sounding hooter
    • 5. Boats will race to buoys up stream from start line.
    • 6. Boats will round buoys with buoy on STARBOARD side
    • 7. Boats will race back to start line, which is also the finish line.
    • 8. Collisions to be avoided: responsible adult steering to ensure this.
    • 9. Racing boats must accept orders from safety boat during race.
    • 10. Skipper to steer only, not provide paddling assistance unless absolutely necessary

  • How teams will be identified
    • The issue is being able to identify and record the positions of teams within races
    • Person recording finishing will not know teams, only see flag identification for boats
    • At some stage each team will need to be assigned to adult skipper
      • Maybe before recording
      • Maybe on dock
    • 1. Team will come to recording desk
    • 2. Will be given a coloured Flag
    • 3. The flag colour and the team name will be recorded
    • 4. The team will take the flag and put it in a tube at the front of their boat
    • 5. Race will be run
    • 6. Order of flag colours will be recorded by finish line judge aboard Nancy
    • 7. Order of flags will be reported back to recording desk
    • 8. Placings recorded
