Further information:
The Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing (the Department) seeks to publish a regional, rural and remote aged care policy framework and workplan, which clearly articulates the Department’s priorities in terms of addressing ongoing challenges in thin market service delivery.
The framework aims to ensure accessible, safe and quality aged care services regardless of where a person lives. It will support existing initiatives, to remain sustainable, relevant, transparent and accountable whilst allowing flexibility for new challenges.
The Department is interested in visiting Franklin to understand any barriers/ gaps which may exist, to better understand the preferences of Senior Australians for aged care services, and to explore innovative and place-based solutions to address gaps and meet needs.
