I am writing to you regarding an unfinished project boat of my fathers located in NW Tasmania.
Unfortunately he has recently passed away leaving an unfinished 20-foot gaff cutter rigged trailer sailer, ply kit build, designed and supplied by Derek Ellard at Scruffie Marine (https://www.scruffie.com/secret20.html).
The family is looking for someone to take over the project and see it through to completion, hopefully continuing Dad’s excellent work and preferably offering some compensation to the family to partially offset the kit purchase and the equipment that would be included.
To the best of my knowledge all parts required to finish the project are present and include:
- Mast, bow sprit, decking, tiller etc.
- Fibreglass sheet, tins of epoxy, filler, hardener, sealer, paint etc.
- Rigging and sails.
- Custom made all aluminium trailer with heavy duty rollers and winch.
I have included with this email some photos of her current state. Further photos are available going right back to the start. Also included are a couple of photos of similar craft in their finished state.
I would appreciate any ability you have to put out the word about Dad’s Secret 20 to any and all of your contacts to help find her a new loving home.
