We are being asked what people need to bring with them on the Raid. Later we will send out more details but for now it may help if we give a short summary of the domestic arrangements. We provide everything needed to have comfortable meals, including marquees, tables, chairs, crockery and cutlery and, most important of all, the Chef and her team. We also bring a water trailer with 1000 litre tank, cooking and washing-up facilities and a convoy of portaloos – but no showers. In the mornings and evenings there will be facilities for making a cuppa, including plunger coffee but no barista. Each evening we will open the bar with a range of wine, beer and cider – so no need to bring your own drinks eski. You need to bring spare clothes and toiletries, tent or swag, sleeping bag and sleeping mat or similar. Your gear will be moved by truck between camps while the fleet moves on the water. We ask that you limit yourself to 20-23kg – with 120 people that still means about two and half tonnes of personal gear to load and unload at each site.
