We’d been scratching our heads about what to do about the leak(s) in the Flying Fifteen when Nick Whyatt and the team at the Wooden Boat Centre took over. No messing about: here is what the boat used to look like:
and here she is now – stripped bare.
Those planks are Huon Pine to the waterline and King Billy above it, in case you were wondering. Nick and Paul are looking at the (patched) hole punched in her by a racing scull. The plan is to cover the hull in dynel sheath. That will learn those pesky leaks, but we hope Nick knows what he is doing. It looks like a long way back!
