This event is traditionally held under blue skies and in blazing sunshine, but the west coast expeditioners took all the good weather with them last week and forgot to bring it back. Those who made the trip up to Huonville still had and enjoyable time with the Guilders, with the usual eclectic mix of boats on the water. The most impressive (to our eyes) was the Scamp skippered by Mat Conboy, which sailed all the way up and back to Franklin. If Mat’s tacking was a bit rusty to start with it was certainly well practiced by the time he pulled in to the boat ramp.
Thanks to Graeme Broxham for the pics.
