Mike Dredge was recently in Scotland and saw Skiffs everywhere. He writes:
Couple of photos, as threatened. Couldn’t get a photo of the ones we saw at Kirkwell (Orkneys) and Cullen – they were being used at the time. And I had to throw in the image of the Falkirk Wheel, which lifts / drops boats between the Union to the Forth and Clyde Canals. The lift / drop is about 25 m, takes less than 5 minutes and uses the same amount of power as would boiling 8 kettles of water. Staggering piece of engineering.
