Yukon’s Moby Dick moment

Deb van Velsen, who is aboard, wrote to her Facebook page:

We thought we were out of the Orca risk zone, west of the Straits of Gibralter. So Yukon was just sailing along with Martin Riddle and I down below cooking dinner. About 5pm a pod of about 6 Orca approached from the opposite direction and then our rudder was rammed solidly, then nudged about half a dozen times. The attack lasted 5 to 10 minutes as we quickly put the engine on and motored away. Equipment seems fine and we are now headed to Cadiz where we’ll check if there is any damage at all.

Update: No damage at all, not even paint missing! Leaving Cadiz for Portugal.
