‘Intrepid’ coming to the LBT

The B Class day sailer ‘Intrepid’, built in 1922 by Horace Tait at Bellerive, has been given to the LBT by Edwin Lang. It has been regularly maintained (last on the slip at the beginning of this year) and is in good condition. The B Class was the predecessor of the Derwent (‘D’) class: a fleet of Derwents regularly sail out of Kettering. Find out more about the boat, including pictures from Edwin, here.

We are extemely grateful to Edwin for this gift, which is a significant part of Tasmania’s maritime heritage, and which should go like a cut snake by the looks of her. We’ll be motor-sailing her down from Lindisfarne soon.
