A good following breeze helped to make this year’s Parade interesting, a contrast to 2019 when the wind was even stronger and much more on the nose. Two LBT boats featured in the ‘Foul Bottoms’ cartoon for ‘Afloat’ magazine of March that year.
The appropriate captions, a bit hard to read in the online edition from which the pic above was taken, read
‘And the winner of the synchronised bailing contest was definitely the blue double ender with the steering oar and dedicated crew’
and
‘We have NEVER seen a Montagu Whaler FLY like this!’ (the rest indecipherable)
‘Yukon’ is there too of course, but we can’t really claim her as ours.
