Most of us who have taken boats out in Tasmanian waters are at least vaguely aware that channel 16 is constantly monitored, and that when the engine gives out on a lee shore and if all else fails we can give that a go, even if the hows and the whys are beyond us. On Monday night we learnt all about those hows and whys from Brian Muir, and very impressive they were too. We came away feeling very reassured, and that we ought to be more involved in this admirable volunteer organisation.
