John Young writes:

‘The Whale boat restoration is about to begin on Monday 6th July. Thanks to all of you who worked to get a house sit for Cody Horgan, the ex Franklin boatbuilder who is taking unpaid leave for a month from his job at the National Maritime Museum to teach the girls from Colony 47 how to restore her. Cody’s wife and family are flying down on Wednesday.

It is a big job and we want to get as much done as possible so volunteer support would be very valuable, as would the feeling of community support for the girls. If you can make it at 9.00am on Monday morning,  even if for only a short time it will kick the thing off well. Its also a great learning opportunity. See you there I hope, and lets get into it.’

The boat under discussion here is the Montague Whaler, over at the Wooden Boat Centre.
