‘The Huon Valley Council were successful in obtaining funding of $750,000 as part of the 2018 State Election commitments. This funding is to be used as part of a larger project for the Foreshore area. The Project was included in the Council’s State Election Strategy as a concept and is attached for your information. Council would like to work with key stakeholders of the Franklin Foreshore area to develop a project brief for the project. This would include listening to your ideas for the area and developing a project scope. This project will involve multiple levels of community engagement with this meeting being the first of many community discussions. We invite a representative from your organisation to meet with Council representatives on site at the Franklin Foreshore on Monday 17 September 2018 at 10am.’ A representative from the LBT committee will be attending the initial meeting mentioned above, and will report back. The document mentioned can be viewed at https://tinyurl.com/ybcmbhr7. From this document: ‘The development along the river bank between the Rowing Club and Wooden Boat precinct would include a marina as well as a new public jetty area maximising the river-front access for any new development, tourists and the Franklin community.’ |
