Fairwell Tall Ships

|On Wednesday many LBTers took to the water aboard Rusich, Capricornia (and other boats?) to bid fairwell to the fleet. A grand time was had by all. From their perch on Rusich’s figurehead valkyries Annie and Jane conducted the misbehaviour incumbent upon vikings, whilst Piet Lundstedt threaded little Capricornia nimbly around the lumbering windjammers. When the wind got up the big ships were no longer quite so lumbering, and were quickly scattered on the horizon past Iron Pot. Piet provided the last bit of drama for the day. He snapped his mainmast, with the jib the being the only sail hoisted mind. That breeze WAS fresh.
Thanks to Laurence Burgin and Piet Lundstedt for organising the boats.
Rusich will be motoring from Kettering to Franklin on Sunday, with limited places available aboard. If you want one speak to Laurence at Franklin Marine (6266 3768).
